Integration time adjusted completeness

چکیده

Future, large-scale, exoplanet direct-imaging missions will be capable of discovering and characterizing Earth-like exoplanets. These mission designs can evaluated using completeness, the fraction planets from some population that are detectable by a telescope at an arbitrary observation time. However, original formulation completeness uses instrument visibility limits ignores additional integration time planetary motion constraints. Some sampled used to calculate may transit in out instrument’s geometric photometric while they being observed, thereby causing agnostic calculation overestimate completeness. We present method for calculating accounts leave during period. define aggregate orbital period which detectable, calculated specific times enter To perform this calculation, we derive analytical methods finding planet-star projected separation extrema, past periastron these extrema occur, intersects circle. also provide efficient numerical difference magnitude corresponding values Δmag. Our adjusted shows that, planned star 25 pc with 1-day 5-day times, is reduced 1% 5% respectively. Integration manner provides computationally inexpensive dynamic completeness—the change on subsequent observations.

Time-series and risk-adjusted control charts

Presentation There are several statistical process control (SPC) methods used in industry that can be applied in healthcare. However, as noted in the earlier discussion by Toulany et al. regarding quasi-experimental designs for quality improvement research, several considerations must be taken into account when adapting these methods for the complex, high-risk healthcare arena. Industrial metho...

Adjusted estimates for time-to-event endpoints.

In the analysis of retrospective data or when interpreting results from a single-arm phase II clinical trial relative to historical data, it is often of interest to show plots summarizing time-to-event outcomes comparing treatment groups. If the groups being compared are imbalanced with respect to factors known to influence outcome, these plots can be misleading and seemingly incompatible with ...

Power-Law Adjusted Failure-Time Models

A simple adjustment to parametric failure-time distributions, which allows for much greater flexibility in the shape of the hazard-rate function, is considered. Analytical expressions for the distributions of the power-law adjusted Weibull, gamma, log-gamma, generalized gamma, lognormal and Pareto distributions are given. Most of these allow for bathtub shaped and other multi-modal forms of the...

Weak completeness notions for exponential time

Lutz [20] proposed the following generalization of hardness: While a problem A is hard for a complexity class C if all problems in C can be reduced to A, Lutz calls a problem weakly hard if a nonnegligible part of the problems in C can be reduced to A. For the linear exponential-time class E = DTIME(2), Lutz formalized these ideas by introducing a resource-bounded (pseudo) measure on this class...

A Modified Multi Time Step Integration for Dynamic Analysis

In this paper new implicit higher order accuracy (N-IHOA) time integration based on assumption of constant time step is presented for dynamic analysis. This method belongs to the category of the multi time step integrations. Here, current displacement and velocity are assumed to be functions of the velocities and accelerations of several previous time steps, respectively. This definition causes...
